Double-Threat: Genius Design + Impeccable Planning

Hi Everyone,

Happy Thursday! What a busy and productive week. I hope you are all enjoying the same! Today, I would like to talk a little about the beautiful synergy that exists between planning and design. I believe that it takes a certain je ne sais quoi to make magic happen, and quite frankly, we are experts at that! Executing dream weddings takes experience, integrity, dedication, and above all, vision. That’s exactly what Preston and I bring to the table: Genius Design + Impeccable Planning.

I often find that brides are unsure of the difference between the work executed by a designer and a planner. These are two very different roles that work together to create a once-in-a-lifetime event for the clients who honor us with their trust. You simply cannot have one without the other. Yes, there are planners or designers out there that claim both titles, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, there is something to be said about being able to hire a dynamic duo that is able to focus on their respective areas of expertise in order to make your dream wedding happen. After all, both roles require an immense level of experience and enormous responsibility that should never be taken lightly.

I’m truly grateful that Preston and I are able to balance each other out. Preston, of course, is the mastermind genius within our organization, not to mention our brand! He truly has an innate ability to listen to brides for just a few minutes and conceptualize the most amazing event design by the time she leaves our offices. He gets excited about delving in to every detail discussed during our consultations and identifies the elements that will tell that love story like no one else can. You see, his craft lies in being able to transform and create magical moments that will be etched in your minds and that of your guests forever. Not many people possess that brilliance.

As the planner, I, on the other hand, am responsible for making sure that Preston’s vision is executed masterfully, efficiently, and without surprises. I thrive on being the link between design and execution. I believe the overall success of the event lies heavily on a planner’s ability to organize, manage, and implement a logistical plan that will allow all the team members to work at their full potential. A planner will be able to provide you with a lot of different things including a realistic budget, effective timelines, an ideal venue and menu, and assist with vendor selections. They will also negotiate all contracts, help with etiquette advisement, seating charts, invitations, and manage all of the behind-the-scenes nuts and bolts of your big day. All of this while handling countless other important details!

While our roles may vary there is a common thread, and that’s our passion and desire to provide our clients with the kind of white glove service they expect and deserve. Together we create the memories that last a lifetime!

Today, I would like to know about a great synergistic relationship you have built in your own business.  How has this relationship enhanced the quality of your work and benefitted your clients?

With a Happy Heart,

Kathy
