Dear Readers:
A lot of times, I am asked to share some of the lessons I have learned throughout my career. Today, I wanted to share the three that benefit me again and again.
Don’t Allow Fear In
Allow yourself to grow by accepting new challenges, nurturing your curiosity and learning from your mistakes. Fear can be crippling, unhealthy, and destructive. While I’d love to say that I fear not, we all know it’s not true. Fear manifests itself in different forms. One thing I know for sure, though, is that all things are possible when you believe, when you do the hard work, when you take action, and when you don’t allow doubt in.
Decide What You Want and Be It
Whatever you do please specialize in something. Avoid being the “Jack of all Trades and Master of None”. I cringe when you ask a planner or anyone in the industry what they do… and they can’t really give you a straight answer because they have not taken the time to define who they are and what they stand for. Decide what makes you happy; perhaps that’s where your strengths lie. You’d be surprised how those two things go hand in hand.
Welcome Success In Due Time
There’s no reason to feel guilty for having achieved it, and there’s no reason to feel envious if you haven’t. Instead, be inspired by every achievement you see or hear of, and in the meantime learn to inspire others in your own creative ways. Learn to be patient and don’t rush success. There is a learning curve for every discipline. Success will come when you are ready and perhaps when you least expect it. Learn how to crawl before you walk, and then maybe you’ll be able to fly! Stay in the moment and allow yourself to acknowledge your mistakes and your achievements alike.
Readers: Do you agree with the lessons I’ve shared with you today? Please share some invaluable lessons you’ve learned.
Best,
Kathy Romero
