Every Friday I feature a reader comment from earlier in the week. Today I’m featuring two comments. The first comes from Deatra, who responded to my post yesterday about guests with sticky fingers. Deatra made a wonderful suggestion that I’d never thought of:

“I think another great idea would be to place a tag under one seat at each table. At the end of the night, have guests check their seat and [whoever has the tag can] bring forward the centerpiece [from their table] to have the flowers wrapped. At that time, all of the vases can also be collected.”

This makes so much sense to me! Guests get to take the flowers home, but, at the same time, you make sure you’re getting all of your vases back. I also liked Heather Forrest-Lundy’s comment, especially her last idea:

” … We’ve also been asked to donate the flowers to charities. In those cases, the couple will mention the donation on their programs, etc… What guest could argue with that?”

This is another great suggestion. Whenever possible, I like to donate wedding and event leftovers to charity. There can be so much waste after a big party, and it’s often so unnecessary.

Dear Readers, do you have any other ideas I missed? Please share them in the comments.

Happy Friday, folks. Have a great weekend.
