Dear Readers:

Have you wondered if there was such a thing as the “It Factor”? If there was, how do we define it? How do we use it to attract the right clients and friends; to make the right connections, which will ultimately lead us to a happier life? To me, it’s simple… this is less about you and more about how you make a person feel. This type of attitude creates bonds and emotions. Sharing your values and inspiring outlook on life will enrich others and ultimately will improve your life.

The perception is that people that “light up the room” tend to be naturally charismatic. Don’t be fooled they too have to work at it sometimes. In fact, while a great part of it might be DNA related, charisma is a trait that can certainly be polished and improved upon if you so desire. The important thing is to use it to enhance the lives of those that you come in contact with. Don’t miss the opportunity. This will ultimately not only build your clientele, it will inevitably create long lasting relationships.

A few things I believe make others stand out:

They are authentic: Avoid emulating others. Avoid becoming the version of yourself that everyone else wants. It’s ok to be different.

They aren’t afraid to be vulnerable: This is not about weakness.  I’m referring to the ability to empathize, love, and be part of something bigger.

They give first: Practice being more open and allowing people in.  Be the icebreaker!

They are not discouraged by rejection: Remember not everyone on the receiving end will allow you in. This applies to industry folks, clients, family, coworkers, life, etc.  Challenge yourself to use it as motivation to keep pushing through.

They believe that you are worth it: Silence the voice in your head that constantly tells you that you are not good enough. If you believe you are good enough, you are.

The happiest moments of our lives happen when we are able to express ourselves in our truest form. Once you realize that, charisma, resilience, and courage, will always be on your side.

Readers: Do you have a hard or easy time standing out? What is the “It” factor for you?

Best,

Kathy Romero
